Cooperson is like *don’t touch my money*

Whatever her case may be we need more rich socialists willing to vote against their own self interest and raise their own taxes more than the average person – I guess someone like Emma Thompson, more people like her.

    • krystal nunya

Why do people think our country is in need of such major change? Aren’t we one of the most diverse, highest incomes and top quality of life when you consider our population numbers? Don’t compare us to Norway and Denmark who have tiny populations and up until recently we’re mostly homogenous and their wealth was obtained through capitalism, the socialiast system they have now is not going to be possible anymore when you introduce tons of foreigners who don’t share the same work ethic and values of you and will milk your generosity to the bone. Also, the population will soon explode there, and they won’t be able to afford it anymore.

Also, is she really saying that all fossil fuels have to be done away with in 12 yrs! Does she know what industries and products use oil? This stuff happens over many decades, not 12 yrs. I would love it, just don’t see that is possible because you have to be realistic. She’s not realistic and doesn’t have any critical thinking skills from what I’ve heard her say.

    • +Leslie Angela Excuse me? He did not make her look bad. She made herself look bad.

    • There is also nothing cool about sticking your don gin another mans hairy hole. That is disgusting and weird if anything which doesn’t emulate “coolness”.

  2. LittleAl016

Fun fact: She wouldn’t even be considered a “radical” in Europe. She’d be considered a left-leaning centrist.

  3. Trevor Horton

Gotta love the establishment doing all they can to shutdown AOC. Clearly they haven’t learned a thing from the 2016 election.

    • JxJxJxJx

      “the establishment”
No, just everyone with a working brain.

    • Since AOC will never debate Ben Shapiro, a move that would effectively end her career, anybody else want to see AOC debate Donald Trump? Alex v Drumpf: Dawn of the Dunces. What a wonderfully entertaining shitshow that would be.

    • Trevor Horton

+MLOOP Debate tactics and skills prove nothing. It’s all about policy and action. Trump is an awful debater, yet he won the presidency.

  4. Anthony Marin

Judging from these comments you would think everyone in the USA is a millionaire.

    • no, just logical and thinking americans who understand that removing incentives to accumulate wealth and doing so forcefully with the threat of force or slavery (ie. taxes) will have a negative impact for all – regardless of socio-economic status.

    • +Anthony Marin comparisons to germany or _any_ other country is irrelevant. any such comparisons fail to consider this glaring fact – that the entire GLOBE is subsidized onto the back of the US taxpayer. anyone who would indulge those kinds of comparisons doesn’t have an objective grasp on the way of the world.

    • m3talh3ad123

+Jack Lu you really don’t need data to prove what I’m saying, but how Detroit suffered from all the car manufactures moving their business overseas would be a huge example. When it’s much cheaper to do business elsewhere, that’s where corporations will move to. You start taxing the people who run the business well into the 70% tax rate, you’re going to see them and their business move. This is just simple business economics. And even then, do you really trust the government will use your money appropriately? I don’t.

    • Long Dick Jones

CSpan1993 ok but it would drive them away? You failed to debunk anything.

  5. The Future Philosophy

Man, socialism is a good idea lets be honest, it worked nearly all the time. Look at how wealthy the USSR was, or how free China is, or North Korea, or Venezuela, or Cuba… man people will NEVER learn!

    • Da Trevmeister

+Robert Saunders I agree with you, but as a Conservative, I see that the greatest threat to white men is white women and beta white men.

    • Robert Saunders

Da Trevmeister A nasty side effect of the feminist movement. Women are good, therefore men are bad. We are now seeing the effects of social activists from 60’s and 70’s. We digress though. This thread is about socialism.

    • Da Trevmeister

+Robert Saunders Im Mexican and I guarantee you that we do not have it as bad as these Democrats ( party which I blindly followed before) say we do. They lie to us, duke us in and tell us how terrible everything is and only if we vote for them will things change. Hec, if it were up to Gore, we’d be swimming in three feet of water by now. (I voted for Gore!)

    • Robert Saunders

Da Trevmeister I’m white. With a fully integrated family. Black, brown, white. No Asian yet but you never can tell. I’m also conservative and a traditional American. It is my opinion that both sides lie to us. Indeed it feels like the left lies more and in ways that are more egregious. I no longer believe any of them. I don’t spend time with what they say instead I watch what they do.

    • Robert Saunders

Whoops… I found and Asian in the woodpile!!!

  6. “If that’s what radical means then call me a radical.”

    Okay. You are a radical.

  7. Mak Tizora

I love how in the states this is considered a radical lol

    • Long Dick Jones

Jacqueline Le if any of you did your research you would know no one in the top brackets paid that insanely high marginal tax rate. They paid around 45-47%. Keep in mind tax brackets were calculated differently back then and people were not paying their 90% share like they were supposed to. Understandably so.

  8. CSpan1993

Anderson Cooper is such a joke.

    • Jim Kirk

Anderson Cooper is such a joke.
WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT I SAY, “WHEN YOU’RE WOKE, YOU’RE A JOKE”!!!

    • Jim Kirk

+Alexander Holman YOU MEAN KEEPING A “STRAIGHT FACE”???

    • Jim Kirk

+big Mac SO IS DON LEMON A PILLOW BITER, WELL IT IS “CNN” (CUCKOLD NEW NETWORK)!!!

    • S Jester

Your delusions of reality physically hurt.

  9. Anthony Marin

The top marginal tax rate in the US from the 1930s until the 1980s actually hovered between 60% and 90%. This affected only a very tiny amount of the wealthiest Americans. This model is currently the norm in several European countries today. By calling her a “radical” leftist, Anderson Cooper is making the tacit admission that the US has radically shifted its politics to favor the wealthiest Americans since the 1980s.

    • Anthony Marin you can’t compare tax codes from 60 years ago. Nobody paid all of that.

    • Jerry Coggin

OK, now compare the standard of living in 1930 to the standard of living today

  10. TWDxKILL3R

The more money you make, the more taxes you’ll have to pay, making people more demotivated to earn more money with their businesses (which create jobs by the way). Yea great idea.

    • Theodore Van Der Beek

Then don’t. Why is it our job to motivate you to be millionaire when you don’t even pay taxes and wanna contribute to the society

    • Jacqueline Le

Is there data to back up this statement?

    • Naim Hussain

+You Know for businesses it gives them a less incentive to invest more cutting out jobs and reduce expansion this would result in less supply of good and an increase in unemployment for an individual high taxes always result in less spending and for these big shots its offshore accounts america would be fine if they knew how to manahe money well but nope lets carry on funding the army and defence and go to wars that doesnt require us instead of funding healthcare and and education

  11. Savage GameZ

She lost me when she once said she wanted to get rid of ICE… Illegals would be running wild if it weren’t for ICE

  12. Steven Evans

Dumber than a box of rocks !

    • Alexandra Pryor

I’d love to see you do this.

    • Mr Black

      Please don’t insult the rocks

    • Thanks A Million

David Reis yeah but you don’t have 360 million people it’s going to cost us 40 plus trillion in a few years to get these done

    • Daniel Brady

+Steven Evans and there are plenty of articles saying that the wall that is being built will cuase detrimental to the habitat and migration for many types of flora and fauna

  13. She is a lunatic.

    • Jim Kirk

+Guy SPEAKING OF NO CONCEPT OF REALITY:

    • Jim Kirk

+You Know SO IS THIS FUNNY!

      ENJOY!!!

    • Jim Kirk

+sadf asdf Her (AOC) ideas are refreshing. REALLY, “refreshing”????????????/

      “Why “Democratic” Socialism Doesn’t Work”

    • Daniel Brady

+Brian S that statement is partially deceptive being when Barack arrived in office it was during the recession and the climb out of it and the progression it is now started majorly during Obama’s end in term,

  14. Mark Messina

If she is the best the democrats have to offer they are in trouble ! BIGLY !!!

    • +circle A Socialism is controlling the means of production. Building a road is not the means of production. But just to play along with your ignorance, don’t you think roads would be in much better shape if there were private competition in building and maintaining them instead of seeing some group of beer belied union members sitting around at a road construction site instead of working, week after week after week while you are stuck in traffic trying to get around them?

    • +Michigan Rebel he’s a leftist, it is impossible for them to make a coherent argument.

    • LittleAl016

+Brian S Beto O’Rourke is an establishment hack who shouldn’t even be mentioned in the same breath as Alexandria Occasio-Cortez.

Also, Venezuela isn’t a real example of Socialism.

    • TommyBecker Becker

      Mark Messina
      Trump taught you that word.

  15. Klos19871 Klos

The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other people’s money.

    • Klos19871 Klos

+Icearchon – If it’s marginal I doubt it will pay for (as you earlier stated) “infrastructure spending, and Medicare for All”.

    • Icearchon

+Klos19871 Klos Infrastructure spending is a long term investment that requires deficit spending up front that then pays for itself over decades.

Medicare for All is paid for by rerouting what would have gone to private insurance to instead a public medicare insurance pool that everyone pays into via taxes. It’s a net-savings according to any study you look at.

The marginal taxes that the wealthy pay will pay for part of paying down the infrastructure and other programs that are developed.

    • Klos19871 Klos

+Icearchon – I have to say I am extremely skeptical. So how much is “Medicare for All” going to cost for 328 million people? What studies have you viewed that backup your point of view? How much will the marginal tax bring in since the annual wage of people in the top 1% starts at just below $400,000?

    • Aisha Kadir

Klos19871 Klos the problem with Capitalism is that the middle class eventually disappears and the wealth gap continues to increase.

    • Klos19871 Klos

+Aisha Kadir – In regards to your statement “the middle class eventually disappears” can you give me any evidence of that happening?

  16. gratisversus

A dangerous child trying to ‘fix’ a machine she doesn’t understand.

  17. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez = Communist

    • heyquano

+Brian S According to Marxism the goal of socialism is communism. According to all non-Marxist socialist ideologies, it isn’t.
And social democracy is not a socialist ideology, since it has a capitalist economy.

    • the main difference between Ocortex and communist countries such as Cuba is that she would prefer for people to democratically vote away their freedom as opposed to a violent military overthrow of the government.

    • heyquano

+Brian S She’s not that radical. She’s pretty moderate by European standards, and I think you can see the difference between Europe and Cuba.

  18. Greg Decker

I’m 49 years old… you know how many years I’ve heard about the magical electric car??? It won’t happen. Sure, we have a few here and there. So far they are either ridiculously expensive and/or the mileage is atrocious. 12 years?? Maybe in 30 years we will shave 25% of fossil fuel use. By my own admission, THAT is ambitious.

    • Kurt.Dk-55

Greg Decker In Norway more than half the new cars sold in 2017 were electrical or hybrid, and the % in 2018 is increasing. All the electricity for that is created from Hydro Power. Not one drop of their oil is used for that. You need elected politicians, that facilitates developments like that. Not like it is in USA, where coal- and fracking oil-barons LEGALLY are buying politicians to create laws that support fossil fuels over renewables. Your main rival on the world-stage CHINA is investing TRILLIONS into this, and advanced technologies are getting more cost-efficient every single day. Who do you think, will come out on top technologically/economically in a few years. USA or CHINA??

    • Greg Decker

+Kurt.Dk-55 …..so, you just made my point. It won’t happen in the US. Thank you.

    • Were heading there fast. Keep up with current trends.

    • Andrew Cayer

Someone said the same thing once about going to the moon or the horseless buggy. Your argument is really “it hasn’t happened yet”

  19. Battlecam0

LOWER IQ OCASIO-CORTEZ or HER FOLLOWERS ?

    • Genevieve Rachele

Battlecam0 her followers! They can’t even do a simple google search to see if she is telling the truth. Also, she is fooling them.

    • William Heacock

      That’s a tough one

    • TommyBecker Becker

      Battlecam0
You have her confused with trump and his followers.

    • J Freedman

I gues you get stuck paying 2.60 a gallon for your 10mpg truck and I save $500 a month not buying any gas with my EV that drives like a lamborgini

  20. Bruce Owens

She actually worked in the phrase “tippy-tops”…on 60 minutes…let that sink in.

    • Randy Lawson

Donald Trump said “Bye-Bye” in a white house meeting. so what? she said a phrase

    • Jeffrey Lebowski

Lol yeah trump is so much more eloquent xD

    • Jim Kirk

+Walking Dreams IN OTHER WORDS A BROOMSTICK VERSION OF THE KARDASHIANS???

    • Jim Kirk

+Randy Lawson AN OLDER GUY SAYING “BYE-BYE” TO A DITZ, WAIT A MINUTE I SAW THAT BEFORE!:

      ADIOS!

    • Debbie Deal

This chick is a TRIP!!! She is in the wrong business. She would be a huge success in stand-up comedy, simply showing up as herself!
